Michael A. Hardin, 24, of Benton, died February 5, 2009 in Benton. He was born October 6, 1984 to Tony and Peggy Hardin of Benton. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was employed at Sam's Club in West Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers, Patrick Hart and Herbert Hardin.
Survivors include his parents; one sister, Amelia Tittle and husband, Ty of Haskell; both grandmothers, Connie Hardin of Ward, AR and Bobbie Hart of Benton; one niece, Madison Tittle; one nephew, Aiden Tittle, both of Haskell, and numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Salem United Methodist Church with Tom Letchworth officiating.

I went on the mission trip to Group Work Camp held in Indianapolis with Michael and Leigh. Leigh was just barely old enough to go (6th or 7th grade) and I think Michael was a 10th or 11th grader. On the first night the people in charge asked for volunteers to help play music throughout the week and Micheal and Leigh both volunteered. That week they thoroughly enjoyed themselves......playing music at night and helping the homeowners fix up their houses during the day.

I worked with Michael at the Peabody and he was a very intelligent young man and we use to talk about a varitey of things from old songs to classic movies, he had a laugh you can from a mile away. I was sadden to here about his passing and he will be missed.

Mr. and Mrs. Hardin,
I had the privilege to work with Michael in the Theatre Dept. At Henderson State University, I was the director of the last show he did there. Michael worked hard and always asked good questions during the process of putting that show together, and did some of his best acting work. I was/am proud of him for the performances he gave. I am very sorry to hear that a gifted and giving person has had to go early. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
