Alan Dale Harris, 79, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 27, 2008. He was born on June 30, 1929 in Durham, Arkansas, son of the late John and Mildred L. Shumate Harris. He was a member of Immanual Baptist Church for many years. Dale was pharmacist and owner of Battery Street Drug Store for a number of years. He retired in September 1997 as a pharmacist for Kroger. He was also a member of the Arkansas Pharmaceutical Association, a Life Member of NRA, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a Shriner.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna Lou Grooms Harris; a son, Tracy Alan Harris of Little Rock; two sisters, Bonnie Sue Harris and Barbara Ann Holiman and her husband Ross, both of Little Rock, a brother-in-law, Charles Gassaway, Sr. of Sherwood; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Hollingsworth and Dr. Charles Barfield officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m., Monday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300.
