Jeffrey Eric Levin

Jeffrey Eric Levin,60, of Oark, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at home.
He was a retired attorney, who also devoted his years to organic gardening, his farm and family. He had a passion for the study of history, for baseball, and fly-fishing.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 27, 1948, Mr. Levin graduated with a degree in business from Syracuse University in 1970. He then received a Juris Doctor from American University in Washington, DC. He served as a Vista volunteer in Silver City, NM and practiced law with the Northern New Mexico Legal Services in Taos. After moving to Arkansas in 1976, Mr. Levin practiced law at Northwest Arkansas Legal Services in Fayetteville, and served as the legal counsel for the Arkansas State Energy Office under the Clinton administration in Little Rock from 1980-1983. Upon moving to Johnson County, Mr. Levin practiced law in Clarksville from 1985 until his retirement in 1995.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Levin and Sherry Sagman Levin. His survivors include his wife; Susan Gateley Levin of Oark, Arkansas; a daughter; Jenny Levin of Oark, Arkansas; two sons; Benjamin Levin and Gabriel Levin both of Oark, Arkansas; a brother; Michael Levin and wife, Debbie of New York; a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Raymond-Mungar Memorial Chapel at the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Arkansas. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Yale Cemetery, Yale, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas. Rev. Marci Ward and Rev. Nancy Benson-Nicol officating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy or the Clarksville Boys Club.

Pallbearers: Bill Higgins, Larry Driver, Doug Strubel, Wade Gateley, David Gateley, Paul Gateley; Honorary Pallbearers: Benjamin Levin, Gabriel Levin, Michael Levin, Larry Taub, Steve Driver, and Jesse Martinez.
