Robert Tackett, 79, of Cave City, Arkansas died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born Monday, November 19, 1928 in Parkin, Arkansas the son of James Robert Tackett, Sr. and Hattie Elsie (Barnett) Tackett. He worked many years at J.K. Southerland. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and was a simple man.
He is survived by a son, Gary Tackett of Cave City; daughter, Ruth Crawford of Batesville; sister, Elsie Est of Cave City; seven grandchildren, Rosemary Lesley of Batesville, Nellie Marie Humbrecht of Cave City, Tonya King of Cave City, Brandy Blanton of Advance, Missouri, Kristopher Blanton of St. Louis, Missouri, Stacy Couch of Charlotte, and James Crawford of Batesville; eight great-grandchildren, Cody Tackett of Cave City, Emily Grace Humbrecht of Cave City, Timothy Selvidge of Charlotte, Ashley Crawford of Batesville, Timothy King of Cave City, Guy Couch of Charlotte, Jason Crawford of Batesville, and Micah Lesley of Batesville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Tackett; daughter, Rosie Tackett; son, Robbie Lynn Tackett; and brother, Thomas Gene Tackett.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Maxville Cemetery in Cave City with Brother Bobby Sanders officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dave Ashford, Perry Crawford, Bryan Humbrecht, Johnny Lesley and Johnny King.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Tackett and Felix Smith.
