Nina Mae Coop McCarson, 84, of Batesville, died peacefully on January 21, 2008 in Ash Flat.
She was born May 25, 1923 in Batesville, the daughter of William J. Bryan Coop and Monnie Rebecca Coop.
Mrs. McCarson was a graduate of Batesville High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing in Little Rock. She was a member of the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School at the age of 18. She was a member of the National Red Cross Nurses Association and past president of the District Nurses Association.
She is survived by two grandsons, Justin Paul McCarson and his wife, Tina and Bryan Kimmer and his wife, Crystal; a brother, William B. Coop; a sister, Betty Cowden; grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Kimmer, William Bryan Hale Kimmer and Cullan Paul McCarson; a nephew, James B. Ford and nieces, Tammy Hicks, all of Batesville, and Tina Ho of North Little Rock; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, William Paul McCarson.
Pallbearers are Chad Blevins, Shane Blevins, Ricky Wilson, Justin McCarson, Bryan Kimmer and Robert Moser. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Tucker, Gary Leonard, Max Tucker and Alex Shaw.
Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Alan Brown officiating.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service at the New Hope Cemetery in Bethesda.

I loved talking to Nina. She was so interesting and had so many great nursing stories. I miss her..
