Laura Lee Grigsby Cowan, 48, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
She was born on June 26, 1970 to Ben and Beverly Ann (Davies) Grigsby.
Laura is a 1988 graduate of Southside High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served as a Specialist, and a 2004 graduate of Lyon College, where she received her bachelor's degree in arts as a history major.
She is preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, John Davies and Laura May Davies; and her paternal grandparents, William H. Grigsby and Ida Lee Grigsby.
Laura is survived by her mother; one son, Hunter Cowan of Batesville, one brother, Spencer Grigsby of Batesville; one grandchild, Madelyn Kaylee Cowan; two nephews Jace Grigsby and Hudson Grigsby; and aunt and uncle Roger and Becky Mannasmith of Marysville, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

I am so sorry for your lose Ms. Beverly and Hunter. Laura was an awesome person and a great friend. She had a heart of gold and a sense of humor I will never forget. Rest in Peace Laura until we meet again girlfriend.
Words can not say how heartbroken I am. I have so many excellent memories with Laura from high school and even Hawaii. You are all in my prayers.
Please accept my Deepest Condolences to the Cowan and Grigsby families on the loss of Laura. So sad to hear this, so shocked, such a loss of a wonderful, kind, sweet, loving person who gave so much. She is missed. Glad to have known her. God Bless Laura and God be with her family at this sad time.
