Jerry Don Taylor, 75, of Southside went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 17, 2018.
He was born in Little Rock to the late E.R. and Willa Mae (McSpadden) Taylor on Tuesday, June 30, 1942.
Jerry was a pastor for 38 years. He spent his first 7 years at Weavers Chapel and the last 31 at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, motorcycling, and feeding the birds and animals.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marilyn (Scaife) Taylor and one son, Paul Ray Taylor and his wife, Francis of Southside.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Brother Ben Ryan, Gary Campbell, Danny Dale, Doyle Clouse, John Richardson, and Sky Clark.
A memorial service will be held at Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 with Brother Tim Landers and Brother Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital at 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, Ar. 72202 or to St. Jude at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105

We were so sorry of the passing of Jerry...He was such a wonderful man and we enjoyed him stopping in to see us...
We did miss him sermon's on Sunday as Paul hasn't been feeling good and has been really hard of hearing and understanding....Out prayers and thought are with you Marylin and family.
