Gerald Leon Moye, 93, of Cave City, passed away February 25, 2017. He is survived by daughter, Melanie Hand of Coweta, Oklahoma; son Audie (Cynthia) Moye and daughter, Tanya Sensabaugh all of Cave City; also grandchildren Todd (Christina) Moye, LorettaWenger, B.J. (Sarah) Sills, Jason Sills, Tom (April) Sills, Joshua (Gail) Moye, Brandi (Jason) Glass, Morgan (Enith) Sensabaugh, and Mason (Holly) Sensabaugh; great-grandchildren Ashley Moye, Zack Wenger, Brayden Sills, Haley Sills, Alana Sills, Ally Moye, Brayson and Bennett Glass.
Born March 12, 1923 in Sidon, AR to Thomas Henry and Rose Jeanette (Nettie) Smith Moye, he was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal (McAlister) Moye; four brothers; two sisters; son, Larry Leon Moye; infant son, Scott Darwin Moye, and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Moye.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, awarded a Bronze Star Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, and Honorable Service Award. He was a salesman of encyclopedias, wholesale goods and real estate, and avid quail hunter, bird dog trainer, and pool player. He was a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville, Arkansas from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 1. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, March 2 at Gum Springs Cemetery, Searcy, Arkansas with Bro. Eddy Lee officiating. Arrangements are made by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
