Donald W. Reed Jr., 68, of Locust Grove, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Donnie was born in Batesville, Arkansas on September 23, 1948, the son of Donald W. Reed Sr. and Jewell (Kerlin) Reed. He graduated in 1966 from Concord High School and began working in Chicago after graduation. He married Phyllis (Scribner) Reed on November 21, 1977. He was an owner/operator for JMI, before moving to Michigan in 1979, where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. Upon moving back to Arkansas in 1990, he became what was one of the proudest moments of his life, Pawpa. He rejoined Julian Martin again, by managing Chimney Rock farm. From there, until his death, he was with Jeffery Trucking, J-Mar Express, Hard Hat LLC, and last with Dry Mountain Express. Donald was an adventurer, loving Dad, Grandad, husband, and friend. He was fearless, humorous, and quick-witted.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Phyllis B. (Scribner) Reed; sons, Trenton Reed and wife, Crystal of Batesville, Jeff Stone and wife, Peggy, of Conway; daughters, Donnelle Reed Brock and Gwen Prince, both of Searcy; grandchildren, Shawn Brock, Ashley Brock, Madalyn Reed, Mycal Stone, C J Stone, Brandon Prince, Jeremy Prince, Garrett Davis, and Grayson Davis; and great-grandchildren, Harper Stone and Hudson Prince. Donald is also survived by sisters, Ann Reed Martin and Mary Reed Brown, both of Concord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul Glenn Reed; a great-grandson, DeAngelo Lebron Edwards; and sister, Kitty Reed.
Pallbearers are Clint Martin, Wes Martin, Randy Sharp, Shawn Brock, Mycal Wayne Stone, and Larry Martin. Honorary pallbearers are McSheer Trucking, Matt Evans, Youl Garrett, Leland Brackett, and Terry Byrd.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Jason Sprouse and Travis Reed officiating. Kelvin Allen will be in charge of the music. Donnie will be led to his final resting place at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Banner via a large convoy. All trucks welcome.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the funeral home.
Donnie was a one of a kind. His last comment to me was, "Hey, Booger!" He will be very missed. My condolences to Phyllis, Trenton, and all the rest of the family. I pray God's peace and comfort on you.

Dear Phyllis and Family, I wish I could be there with you guys. My heart and prayers goes out to you all. Please know I've been praying non stop for you guys over the Holidays. I know life will never be the same but I do know you've got a Special Guardian Angel watching over you now. Smile and Hug each other a little more often. Celebrate the memories for Donnie was a great guy who will be greatly missed by many.
