Cathy Wheeler, 71, of Desha, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016, in Little Rock.
She was born in Lansing, Michigan on September 12, 1944 and was the daughter of Basil Adelbert and Geraldine Grace (Cory) Ealy.
She attended the University of Nebraska. Cathy was a member of the Cushman United Methodist Church; was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization and a devoted child of God. She was a homemaker, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and best friend. Cathy loved and was also devoted to her grandchildren.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 52 years, James D. Wheeler of Desha; son, Jeffrey Wheeler and wife, Shylo, of Rusk, Texas; daughter, Michelle Lively and husband, Chris, of Batesville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Nikko Wheeler, Thaylan Bowman, Blaire Lively, Chris Thorne, and Devin Thorne. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Edgmon of Wolverine, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Carl Edgmon.
Pallbearers will be Nicky Pearson, Gary Hodge, Kary Don Clark, Terry Clark, James Inman, and Tom Inman.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Roller-Crouch Chapel with Rev. Paul Seay and Bro. Steve Long officiating. Burial will follow at Alderbrook Cemetery in Desha under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

We are so sorry to hear of Cathy's death. We will always remember what a good neighbor and friend she was for so many years, and our kids all growing up together.
