Oh how sad I am to here of Coach Reynolds passing. He was a TRUE GEM! I did not have him in school, however he and some helpers painted our house one summer and I (with my Easy Bake Oven) made cakes and cookies for them the whole time!!! I can close my eyes and still see him standing in his all white paint "uniform" with a smile on his face. A smile grabs me every time I think of him! RIP Coach! ❤️

Dear Family - So sad to hear of Coach Reynolds passing. He will always be my memory as the first real football coach i had. Taught us the value of hard work and giving it our best physical effort. and what competition was all about as a Pioneer. My sympathy to you all and what a legacy this man left.

Dear Jan and girls

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Van was a very dear friend to me, since we grew up together-he seemed like family.
He was so good to my mother. Van was a truly outstanding man. He was always helping others not for thanks or praise but because of the love he had for people. We are all lucky to have had the privilege of knowing Van.

I am so sorry for your loss of Van. I have many fond memories of spending time with your family as a young girl growing up in the North Heights Church family. Van richly influenced so many lives; and those who knew him will never forget his humble spirit and love for others. May God comfort you all during this difficult time.

I am very sorry to learn of Mr. Reynolds passing. He was favorite teacher. I had him for 8th grade science in 1979-1980 school year. I could tell he really enjoyed his job. I remember one of his quotes when someone for the school paper asked him what happiness was. He replied, " happiness is getting your paycheck, having enough money to pay your bills and having enough money left over to buy a Pepsi". I always thought that was so funny.
He was an old school teacher who made the students enjoy class.
I am truly sorry for your families loss, my condolences to you all.

Van may have been short in physical stature, but is a giant in character and heart. A great football coach, and an exceptional life coach. I weep at his passing, yet thank God for the privilege of having known him and been coached by him. All his boy's are better men for having Van in our lives. My condolences to Jan and the girls. Jan, you and the girls are in our prayers. May God give you the strength to get through the days ahead.
"Couch" Reynolds was love by anyone who ever met him, was taught by him or coached by him. He was love by everyone. He was
a stern teacher that demanded your attention in his class room but
was your friend outside in the halls of Batesville Schools. He will be missed by all who knew him. He's now telling new jokes to the Angels of the Lord.
