Rev. Arlie Thomas Strong, 75, of Batesville died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at White River Medical Center.
Born August 23, 1940 in Gainesville, Missouri, he was the son of Noah C. Strong and Edith Norton Strong.
Arlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as a minister in the Assemblies of God over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and loved attending family reunions. Arlie was proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage and enjoyed ancestral research. He was a gifted carpenter, could build anything, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Blakey Strong; a daughter, Lisa Blankenship and her husband, Carl, of Cushman; four grandchildren, Crissy Young, Justin Blankenship, Daniel Blankenship and Tommy Hilderbrand; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester Strong of Seymour, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Brenda Hilderbrand; five brothers, Elmer, Johnny, James, Chester and Harley; and a sister, Mary Hayes.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cushman Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dale Hughart and Rev. Carl Blankenship officiating.
Pallbearers will be Justin Blankenship, Don Young, Josh Goodwin, Eugene Skelton, Danny Franks and Stephen Morrow.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Blankenship and the men of the Cushman Assembly of God Church.
There will be a 3:00 p.m. committal service at Lutie Cemetery in Theodosia, Missouri under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the funeral home.

So very sorry that Bro. Strong passed away . I know you will all miss him . If there is anything I can do please let me know. I will be praying for the family. Sometimes I think about mom and dad and how much I miss them and want to see them and I just remember what dad said I can't stay with you but you can come to me when it is time. Prayers for each of you.
