Jim Kessinger, 93, of Batesville, died at his home on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
He was born on May 10, 1922 in Guy, Arkansas and was the son of Joe Pfieffer Kessinger and Agnes Rdell Glover Kessinger.
He retired from GenCorp as a master maintenance man and served his country during World War II in the Navy on the USS Trenton. Jim also owned a lawn mower repair shop for over 20 years. He could fix anything, enjoyed helping others, and liked to camp, fish, and garden.
Survivors include one son, James H. Kessinger Jr. of Bethesda; four daughters, Louise Roberts and her husband, Tom, and Peggy Holt all of Bethesda and Frances Wood and her husband, Michael and Karen Cowden and her husband, Allen, all of Cushman; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice Foster Kessinger; a daughter, Anita Paige; two grandsons, Jody and Brandon Wood; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Doug Ferrell, Barry Ferrell, Gary Ferrell, Kenny Franks, Patrick Roberts, and Aaron Keller.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church with Brian Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Bethesda under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.
