Gwendolyn Inez Johnson Melton, 74, of Kansas City, Kansas, died Monday, January 11, 2016 in Kansas City.
She was born in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas on November 27, 1941 and was the daughter of Austin and Grace (Ferguson) Johnson.
She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and was a Registered Nurse for 35 years.. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and wife who enjoyed good conversation and the company of family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Melton, of Kansas City; a son, Richard Melton, also of Kansas City; and one grandchild, Steven Melton and his wife, Michelle. She is also survived by two brothers, George Johnson of Melbourne and Odell Johnson and his wife, Loyce of Lake of the Ozarks.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman with Rev. Paul Seay officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
I am sorry for the loss of Inez. I haven't seen her since she graduated High School but I remember her well. She was a cute and sweet girl. God Bless.
