Sam Evola, 65, of Cord, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at a hospital in Little Rock.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 17, 1950, to Salvatore and Margaret (Bellanca) Evola.
He served in the U. S. Air Force retiring after 24 years of service to his country. Sam enjoyed his dogs and loved fishing. He was an avid hunter and loved playing the accordion which he played since the age of four. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville.
Survivors are his wife, Linda (Gabris) Evola of the home; a son, Anthony J. Evola of Plant City, Florida; a daughter, Shaliece A. Montoya and significant other, Dave Cook; one grandchild, Michael D. Montoya of Napa, California. Other survivors include one brother, Vince Evola of Roseville, Michigan; one sister, Rosetta Acciaioli and her husband, Steve of Ortonville, Michigan; a special sister-in-law, Brenda levy and her husband, Nick of Thonotosassa, Florida; three ''very special'' friends, who were more like brothers to him, Gary Mazzenga of Clinton Township, Michigan, Tony Smith of Orange Beach, Alabama, Larry Powell of San Ysidro, New Mexico; and many other loving family members. He is also survived by his beloved four-legged babies, Molly, Sophie, and Petey; and his four-legged grandbabies, Ollie, Izzy, Jasper, Juniper, and Joules.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Evola.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dhanraj Narla performing the mass.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

I am very sorry to hear about Sam. My heart aches for his wife, family and close friends. Prayers, thoughts and hugs sent. We had lost touch after High School but recently reconnected here in MI. when he came into town. We exchanged many emails and enjoyed each others friendship. He will be terribly missed. RIP Sam!
Our hearts are broken without our Sammers.. Our deepest sympathy to Linda, Shalice Tony and all who loved Sam. He will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. We will truly miss him.
