of Batesville,
May 9, 1960 - September 6, 2015
Crassandra Diane (Board) Smart, 55, of Batesville died Sunday, September 6, 2015, in Batesville.
Born May 9, 1960, at Jax Naval Base Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of Veryl Vincent Board and Carol Misner Board.
She was an excellent cook all her life and worked in state-run homes and the high school with disabled adults and children. She worked as a clerk at Dollar General and in dietary at White River Medical Center. She loved to crochet, read, and watch television with her daughter.
Crassandra was determined that she wanted and would get a college degree. She started when she was young and finished with an associate's degree in criminology from UACCB in Batesville in 2014. She and her daughter, Tiffany, then attended ASU in Jonesboro. While attending Arkansas College, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Batesville where she helped with Saturday's table.
Crassandra loved people. Her daughter's friends called her ''mom'' because of her loving and outgoing nature. She went out of her way to help people, even when she was struggling herself. Her friends loved her and they remained friends with her for years up to the present time. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them. Crassandra's smiling face, loving attitude, jokes and boisterous laughter will be missed by all.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Tiffany Smart of Batesville; her parents of Batesville; a sister, Kristina Board of Batesville; a brother, Marcus Board and his wife, Kim, and two nephews, Caleb Board and Bradley Board, all of Rogers; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church in Batesville with Joel Krogen officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Batesville under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be J. D. Smart, Ty Swaim, Travis Swaim, Trace Swaim, Steven Parks and Bradley Board. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Kruse and Dr. George Jackson.
Visitation is from 9:00-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 2415 E. Main Street, Batesville, AR 72501
Dear Board family.
I'm signing this late. Crassandra would understand. Mom's been going through health issues since Crassandra passed. But Mom and I have talked and talked about our cherished memories of growing and living with Crassandra. Mother was her dear friend. Crassandra was like the true Aunt I needed as a child. I'll never forget her blasting the Moody Blues and driving that awesome burgundy Plymouth/Mitsubishi Sapporo like hell on wheels. She should have been a NASCAR driver. She often was an 'unofficial' NASCAR driver :)
I had a dream of her about a month ago. She said she's doing great. She was radiant and shining.
I'm passing that message on for her now. And her shininess. That part was quite cool.
Don't care if you think I'm crazy. Most people do anyhow.
But-
She was in my dream, that is what she said, and we ALL know Crassandra wouldn't want me to leave you all out of the loop.
Cause she was loud and female proud.
And I quite liked that about her.
Fond regards,
Tammy R. Hilburn
Carol & family, Words are not adequate to express my deep sympathy for you and your family. Sadly, I know what you are going through. I pray for peace for your family, love you and miss you.

Dear Veryl, Carol, Kristina, and Tiffany:
Our sympathies for this unexpected loss in your family. Of course, we know that in Adam all die. But we also know and confess that in Christ shall all be made alive. So baptized and believing Crasssandra has been saved; she was in Christ; we shall see her again with all the saints who fall asleep in Christ Jesus. This is my hope. I am comforted knowing that this is yours, too. The Lord give you strength in the days to come. We love you.
Marcus & Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Praying for you and your family.
