Matthew Vaughn Hall, 30, of Concord, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 in West Virginia.
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on October 19, 1984, he was the son of Vaughn Dean and Kathy Lynette (Tanner) Hall. He was a fuel truck driver for Sheehan Pipeline Construction Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was graduated from Concord High School in 2003 where he was very active in athletics and was a member of the 2003 State Champion Baseball team where he started in left field. Matthew loved to deer hunt and was an avid fisherman. At the age of 14, Matt began race car driving. He was a well-known driver at the Batesville Speedway participating in the superstar and street stock classifications. He was also very active in the Concord Community and had been a volunteer fireman since the age of 18. Matt was always very popular and had a very wide circle of close friends, but the loves of his life were his nieces and nephews. He always took time out of his busy schedule to travel back home to attend sporting events, birthday parties, and school functions. He loved his family and will be terribly missed by his sisters, his mother, and his best friend, his dad.
He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors are his parents, Vaughn and Kathy Hall of Concord; his sisters, Alesia Harsson and her husband, Andy, of Concord, Kelli White and her husband, Greg, also of Concord, and Kara Queary and her husband, Billy, of Bethesda. He is also survived by his grandparents, Justin and Betty Tanner of Concord and Virginia Hall of Velvet Ridge; nephews and nieces, Tanner and Cooper Queary both of Bethesda, Amber Dalton, Kendall White, Lizzie White, Sydney Harsson, Hannah Harsson, and Taylor White all of Concord; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, W. D. Hall
Pallbearers will be Wesley Stuart, Brent Strain, Matt Evans, Clint Martin, Donnie England and Jo Payne.
Honorary pallbearers are Jake Kennedy, Justin Brackett, Andrew Pope, Billy Queary, Andy Harsson, Greg White, and the men and women of Concord Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Banner Church of Christ with Bill McSpadden officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

I actually met Matt at Sunday school. We went on to be in the same class. I can remember in fourth grade he told me he couldn't ask me to be his girlfriend because I was his friend Brent Strain's girlfriend. But it was after graduation that I have the most memories of Matt. He was there for me through the hardest parts of my young life. I'm sure I thanked him but I'm not sure he ever knew how much it meant to me. The world and our small community has lost a truly great man.
