Avinell Selvidge McDoniel, 88, of Newark, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in a Little Rock hospital.

Born August 30, 1925 in Damascus, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Walter Holland and Lizzie McKenzie Holland.

She retired from Batesville Manufacturing Company. Avinell was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #91 and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Jim West and wife, Debbie, of Austin, Arkansas; two daughters, Carolyn Armstrong and husband, Ronnie, of Thida and Sara Covington and husband, Travis, of Newark; three brothers, Wesley Holland and wife, Annie, of Sulphur Rock, Gerald Holland and wife, Robbie, of Quitman and Bud Holland and wife, Sammie, of Cabot; four sisters, Flora Thomason of Wichita, Kansas, Alma Adams of Buffalo, Kansas, Shirley White and husband, Glen, of Harrison and Mary Chippeaux and husband, Terry, of Belair, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul McDoniel; two sons, Don West and Wesley Selvidge; two brothers; and six grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2014, at Maple Springs Cemetery with John Neal officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jimmie Armstrong, Ronnie Armstrong, Steven Armstrong, Ronald West, Lonnie Selvidge and John Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers are Scott Armstrong, Brody Jackson and Chanden Armstrong.

Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
