William L.D. Crow, 63, of Batesville died Sunday, November 28, 2010.
He was born September 27, 1947 in Batesville, Arkansas, the son of William Cornelius Crow and Opal Crabtree Crow.
At the age of 18, L.D. was drafted into the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Vietnam War.
He worked 14 years as a rural route mail carrier; 11 years with the Batesville Volunteer Fire Department and retired after 16 years as a heavy duty mechanic with the Arkansas Highway Department. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Mount Zion Masonic Lodge #10, a member of American Legion Post 0114, and of the Methodist faith.
L.D. was a Nascar fan, collected guns, loved to hunt deer, and was a good cook.
He was dependable, fun, tender hearted and loved to watch his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Vikki Huckaba Sutton Crow; sons, Shawn Crow and wife, Crystal, of Prim, Arkansas, Billy Sutton and wife, Carrie, of Locust Grove, Arkansas; daughters, Traci Corbell and husband, Blake of Wynne, Arkansas, Crystal Tosh and husband, Randall, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Travis Crow, Autumn Crow, Megan Corbell, Colt Corbell, Colby Sutton, Kinze Sutton, Camry Sutton, and Logan Tosh; sisters, Nina Alberani of Livonia, Michigan, Bernice Palmer and husband, Lonnie, Jr. of Batesville, Lela Landers and husband, Leon, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog, Bernie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Lauryn Tosh.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Pleasant Grove with Bro. Gary Don Fletcher officiating.
Music will be provided by Gary Rounds and Danny Dozier.
Pallbearers are Roy Wyatt, Billy Wyatt, Steve Kimbrough, Darrell Johnson, Doug James, Larry Guenzel, Lynn Cantrell and Ed Shaver.
Honorary pallbearers are Rick Webb, Michael Webb, Dale McCoy, Dr. Bob Slaughter, Albert Huff, Ivan Wood, Jack Engles, Buel Wortham, Mike Branscum, Ken Callaway, Bob Arnold, Jim Walker, and Mack Young, Chris Huckaba and Bob White.
Burial will be at Cave City Cemetery in Cave City by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the funeral home.

Vicki we haven't seen you or L.D. in a long time, but we have talked about the good old days when we lived close and were friends. L.D. has always been a sweet and special guy. Vivkie Billy Crystal and family.
I have so many good memories of LD the last few years. He was such a sweet person and always had a smile on his face. Many times during the summer I new he wasnt feeling to good but he was always at the ball fields to watch the grandkids play sports.
