Mary Alice (Bell) Kerlin, 103, of Almond, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at White River Medical Center. She was born in Concord, Arkansas on Tuesday, March 6, 1906; the daughter of John and Sarah (Green) Bell. Mary was a homemaker and loved vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed knitting, quilting and crocheting. She was a very strong-willed person, but was also very tender hearted and was always there for her family. Mary was a member of the Concord First Baptist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Shirley Kerlin of Almond; a daughter and son-in-law, Marion K. and Bill Gardner, also of Almond; nine grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Kerlin, six sisters, and two brothers. Pallbearers will be Randy Bishop, Justin Bullard, Kevin Bullard, Jason Reed, Richard Sparks, and William Casady. Honorary pallbearers are N. F. Kerlin, Sevill Reed, and Victor Kerlin. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Concord First Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Terry Johnson. Burial will follow the services at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 10923 Heber Springs Road North, Concord, AR 72523
