Mr. Charles Howard James, Sr. 87, of Sherwood passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017. He was born on January 25, 1930 in Conway, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn James; and daughter, Linda Charlene James Baldwin.

Charles was a United States Army veteran who honorably served during the Korean War. He retired from the Arkansas State Department of Finance and Administration and also was a retired cattle farmer. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He took care of his wife, Carolyn, for 68 years before her passing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his son, Charles Howard James, Jr. (Pattie); three grandchildren, Micheal Arellanes, Justin James, Melissa Mixon; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Harmony Baptist Church in Sherwood. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Pallbearers will be, Kirtis Hyde, Brian Crosson, Donnie Price, Larry Thomas, Jody Brooks and Mark Monahan.

Pawpaw I miss you every day!! Just like you said I would. Your with Mawmaw now so please tell her that we miss and love herso very much. We went and saw Olean, she sure misses her little brother. I look for you all the time, and have wanted or needed to talk to every day, still can't believe your not here!! I love you pawpaw
