Larry Luerssen, 86, of Booneville passed away September 13, 2017. He was born October 29, 1930 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, the son of George and Laura (Thake) Luerssen. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and later enjoyed serving as Fire Chief for the Grayson Fire Dept. As a self employed carpenter, he remodeled numerous houses in the local community. Larry loved working with different venues of wood crafts such as carvings, statues, furniture and toys for Goodfellows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura Luerssen; and his wife of thirty-five years, Rosemary (West) Luerssen.

Survivors include one son, Mark Luerssen of Booneville; two daughters, Linda Feinberg and husband, Robert of Booneville and Sandy Luerssen of Benton, Louisiana; one sister, Carol Koch and husband, Edward of Rose Creek, Minnesota; one brother, Donald Luerssen and wife, Leona of Cabool, Missouri; two honorary brothers, John Rose and Edward Pierce; and many other family members.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Krus, Daniel Johnson, Richard Behler, Billy Garner and Bud Means.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Booneville Funeral Service Chapel.

Cremation arrangements under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
