Mr. Odas Luster Seay, 80, of Cherry Valley, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at Wynne. He was born July 8, 1937, at Lake City to Willie and Thelma Lee (Norman) Seay.
He was a member of Hydrick Baptist Church. He worked at Singer Company for 20 years, was owner of a tree service, and had been a radio dispatcher for the Trumann Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Nana Lou Smullins Seay; a brother, Claudie Seay, and three sisters, Tilda O'Neal, Nettie Louise Seay, and Sarah Jane Seay.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Propes of Cherry Valley and Melissa Ekman of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; two sons, Brad Seay and Brian Seay, both of Trumann; five sisters, Marge Murray of Heber Springs, Anna Lewis of Prattsville, Nancy Gammill of Jonesboro, Betty Foster of Marion, and Sheila Mullins of Newark; five brothers, Danny Seay of Judsonia, Roy Seay of Bentonville, Robert Seay of Cave Springs, Ronald Seay of Marion, and Raymond Seay of Baytown, Texas; five grandchildren, Diana Ekman, Daria Seay, Zachary Seay, Lee Cossey, and Kristy Jernigan; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation Wednesday, August 23rd 5:30-7:30pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue, Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00pm at the funeral home, with Howard Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park on Harrisburg Road.
The memory of uncle odas he and my Aunt Nanalou, was fun and we couldn't wait to get to grandma's house to see them and have some fun. With the kids. Uncle odas was always good to me and we loved him very much. We are saddened to let him go but he is home with God and aunt Nanalou we will miss him. Sending prayers to all who are left behind. His children and families whom loved him. RIP.
Memories of a hero to me when I was 5 yrs old. A charging bull buck me andi my Uncle Odas came to save me from worst disaster for a 5 yr old. I remember bleeding on his collar and a kid voice smoothing met fear. He was my Superman for the day then. I'm sure he was for others in their lives too. Love you uncle Odas. prayers to my cousins .. I'll always remember Odas as a soft spoken man with a smile like his mom's. I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to all my cousins and especially to Odas' children. God grant you peace and comfort in the days ahead. Love to all.
