August 5, 1930 - August 19, 2017

Alta Geneva Bentley of Little Rock joined the saints in Glory through death on August 19, 2017. She was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Bill and Ruth Stecks on August 5, 1930.

Geneva attended North Little Rock High School and graduated with the class of 1949. That same year she married Robert David Bentley and together they lived and raised a family on both sides of the river at Little Rock. David and Geneva were together for a total of 72 years.

As a couple they have influenced and inspired literally thousands of people around the globe. If you asked Geneva what she did in her life she would say, "I am a singer." In fact, she was a Christian evangelist who sang for the Lord throughout the world and led others to Christ with a generous heart and joyous spirit. Geneva was a founding member of Life Unlimited Fellowship in Little Rock and was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church. For decades, David and Geneva played leading roles in World Ministry Fellowship of Dallas, Texas.

Geneva was the queen bee of an extensive family. Her survivors include her husband Robert David Bentley of Little Rock, three children and their spouses: David B. Bentley and Sally, Duwane Bentley and Emma Lou, Gayla Whitt and Gary, all of Little Rock. Her brothers with their wives are Donald and Maxine Stecks of Little Rock and Gary and Janie Stecks of Mayflower. She was Mammaw to ten grandchildren and a multitude of great grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 22 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Griffin and Brian Sharp officiating. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery approximately 1 hour following service. Dear David Sr. & Family
Our prayers for strength & peace to all of you. Remember that my family & I lived next door to you when we were children on 36th st. in Levy, Ar. I was in nursing school at Baptist Hospital when your first baby son was born there. Geneva was so proud and we shared joy at that moment.
I remember times and memories of our friendship at NLR HigH school as we graduated in 1949. So many good memories.

R. David Bentley; you are one of the finest men I've ever known. I only worked for you a short time at the VAHospital but it was an honor. I didn't know Mrs. Bentley beyond Occationly seeing you both through the years, but it was obvious that she was a wonderful lady. She always acted as if she'd known me for ever and she remembered my family and the Vints of the LRPD. My prayers are with you and your family.

I offer my love and sadness to Aunt Geneva's close family. I know your heart will miss her so much. Her presence, her wisdom, her voice and the love she gave you. But I can celebrate her going home to be with her Lord! What a glorious day for her!! She lived her life to one day be with her Lord. No more pain, no more wondering when He would call her!
She was such an elegant lady. Always so pretty and poised.
I will always remember the love she gave me. Gayla, being her only daughter you have followed right in her footsteps being a loving mother, grandmother and a kind woman. My prayers are with you in these following days as you hear all her praises from all the many she touched. May God fill your hearts.
