Virginia (Ginger) Beeson McCaleb

November 21, 1956 - August 10, 2017

Virginia (Ginger) Beeson McCaleb of Little Rock, AR passed away peaceful at her home on August 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Virginia Dare Beeson in Albuquerque, NM on November 21, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Grady Beeson and Beverly Bort.

Ginger is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Johnny McCaleb of Little Rock; her daughters, Lindsay McCaleb (32) of West Palm Beach, FL and Dr. Rachael McCaleb (30) and Caroline McCaleb (25) of Little Rock; sisters, Frances Cannon of Midway, AR and Maria Brinsfield of Hot Springs; brother, Grady Beeson of Houston, TX.

Ginger was introduced to horses by her father at a young age, and quickly developed a passion for riding and showing. Later in life, she found great fulfillment in sharing her passion of riding with her daughters, traveling across North America showing Quarter horses. Her proudest moment was watching her beloved horse, All About Lark (Big), win the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship. Ginger was well respected by everyone who came to know her. Those who knew Ginger, knew that she never met stranger. Her warm smile and infectious laugh could brighten any room. She will be forever loved ad forever missed.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas with Reverend Tony Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Riverwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15524 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211.

Ginger was so pure and full of life. I loved the family tributes at the funeral service today. She was so loved and lived so well. I was moved and proud to hear the service. It was a grand tribute. I came to support the family, especially my classmate, Francis. I left inspired by the beauty of the service that so wonderfully highlighted Ginger's life. Rest In Peace my friend!

Thanksgiving will never be the same without the entire family gathering at the McCaleb house. The boys frying turkeys outside while the girls look through sale adds for Black Friday inside. And I can't forget about her layered salad with peas that I absolutely loved! She was a brave and courageous woman who fought to live life to the fullest even when her body began to fail her. I am honored to have been a part of her life and I will forever cherish the memories I have of her...most of which involve horses! I love that even in the midst of dark times there is light. Ginger spent these last few years creating wonderful memories and stronger than ever bonds with her daughters, husband, sisters, and brother. I know I enjoyed seeing and hearing about my mom (Maria) laugh, giggle, and get into small amounts of mischief with her sisters over the last few years. My sweet Aunt Ginger will forever be missed but I am so happy that she is now free of all sickness and pain! Ride those horses in heaven as fast as you want Aunt Ginger.

I know you are pain free now, but my heart still aches to know I won't hear your voice and laugh anymore. I love you Ginger McCaleb 😘

May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear, how much I love and miss you and wish you were here.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ginger's family at this time. I watched Ginger and her siblings grow up when they lived in Brown Springs. She was a beautiful little girl and grew up to be a beautiful woman. May God wrap his arms around all of you and give you peace.
