Selmer ''Sam'' Dorrough, 81, a resident of Paris passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 in Bentonville.
He was born November 4, 1935, to the late Buford and Ollie (Scrivner) Dorrough. Sam was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paris. In his spare time he enjoyed playing in the men's softball league and hunting. In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Juila Ann (Hill) Dorrough, a sister, Gail Williams and seven brothers, B.C., Clifford, Bill, Gerald, Elmer, Raymond and Donald Dorrough.
Survivors include a son, Sammy Dorrough and his wife, Roberta of Ozark; a daughter, Vicky August and her husband, Jeff of Bella Vista; four grandchildren, Alan Frederick of Charlotte, North Carolina, Rodney Frederick of Bentonville and Eliott and Ethan Dorrough, both of Ozark; three sisters, Laverne Patterson of Barling, Sue Pederson of Paris and Ann McCartney of Ratcliff; two brothers, Lindell Dorrough of County Line and Albert ''Shorty'' Dorrough of Schenectady, New York.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Paris with Rev. Harlin Brewton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Alan Frederick, Rodney Frederick, Eliott Dorrough, Ethan Dorrough, Shaun Frederick and Mike Moffett. Lindell and Albert ''Shorty'' Dorrough will serve as honorary pallbearers.
