I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. Rick and I grew up in our late teenage years. He was a good friend that I had lots of fun with. We road motorcycles cave explored and so much more. After his tenure in the U. S. Navy I decided to join the Navy and enjoyed it so, I stayed for 34 years. Alzheimer's is a wicked illnesses and I hope some day a cure is found. I lost a Grandmother and Mother to the disease. My prayers are with his family, brother and sister.

Many years ago, I took numerous dive classes and remember Rick's smile and enthusiasm for life. He was so helpful and if you wanted to dive, whether you had much money or not, he'd make sure you had the opportunity. I'll never forget his love for diving and the world around him, how he enjoyed a good visit and laugh, and his love for diving. He will be remembered always. Robin, you, your family, and dive family are in my prayers. Love, Jama

It seems like the good Lord takes the good guys far to early in life and Rick is no exception. It has been my privilege to have attended the same school (LRCHS) as Rick have been associated with him as his student. He was always an inspiration to me with his drive and no nonsense approach to everything that made him a success in everything he did. My only regret is that we did'nt get to spend as much time as diver's is a reminder life is just to short. God Bless all of Rick's family especially Deb, he was truly somebody that made us all better people for having known him. Gordon Graves

I recall living at Fairfield Bay in the mid 70's when my friend and I (the late Don Marshall) decided to drive down to Little Rock twice a week and get certified at Lynn's Sea and Scuba. I'm not sure Lynn what to do with the 2 Clownfish that was "Bake and "mr. Wonderful " (alleegedly, Marshall), so the dumped us on this "kid", Ricky. How fortunate was that day!
Upon Lynn's sudden and tragic passing Rick would consult with me over lunch as he told me of his dream to press on with his own place. The fire was there. It was easy to encourage him to go with those dreams. This country has always needed scrappers like Rick ....and Ricky. Gone too soon, my friend.

I wish I had been around Rick more as an adult. We are cousins (his grandmother and mine were sisters) and our families got together often when we were kids. Always had good times with them. I would stop in the shop every once in a while to visit and he was always welcoming - he showed me lots of pictures they had taken on their many diving expeditions - just gorgeous. I teased him saying I was surprised that we were cousins because I don't even like to get my face wet! My heart weighs heavy for all of the family - I will be sending comforting thoughts and prayers in your direction.

When Brennan had teeth pulled and was high on gas, I had to take him to see Rick before he would go home! Diving was a sport that brought us together as a family and with many friends. Jon, Chip and Brennan had so much fun burfing in Cayman. The jokes that Rick told and pulled with the boys are such good memories. I called on Rick as an advertising sales rep for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from May, 1996 until I retired in July, 2007. During those years I grew quite fond of him and discussed many things with him, including how fortunate he was to make an excellent living from the hobby he loved. He said he'd like to be remembered for that as well as living life to its fullest.
I lost touch with him after I retired and was shocked to read his obituary and learn of his developing that horrible disease so relatively young (my mother had it but not until later in life). I l always had the highest regard for him and will continue to do do.

Robin, our hearts are heavy with sadness today as we heard of Rick's passing. He was a wonderful man who made a positive impression on our lives and Ange & I will both miss him. He was a true joy to be around and was a big part of instilling in us a love for diving. If you need anything at all, please let us know. We'll be praying for you during this terribly difficult time. grace, comfort, & peace- Matthew & Ange Bintliff

I am so saddened that we have all lost a great man, friend, father, husband, teacher and mentor. He will be greatly missed by so many. At least he won't suffer anymore and is at peace in heaven looking for some blue water. Robyn, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls, and all others who were privileged to know Rick or "Ricky".

Please accept my sincere condolences. May the words quoted from this song bring you a measure of comfort as it did for me.
………”If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made:
He will call; The dead will answer.
They shall live at his command.
For he will have a longing
For the work of his own hand.
So have faith, and do not wonder,
For our God can make us stand.
And we shall live forever,
As the work of his own hand ”(Job 14:13-15)
