Charles Wade, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday, June 11 at Jonesboro Healthcare Center. He was born July 23, 1933 in Lake City to Elmer and Leora Wade. He graduated from Lake City High School and was employed at City Water and Light for 37 years. He served two years with the United States Army. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Leora Wade; and a sister, Evelyn Bullington.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Loretta (Robertson) Wade; a son, Danny (Adel) Wade; a granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Wade; and a sister, Charlene Thompson.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Graveside services will be 10 am Thursday at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Bro. Rick Hathcoat officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Young at Heart Sunday School Class from Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
The family requests that lasting memorials be made to Jonesboro Healthcare Center, Alzheimer’s Association or Compassion Ministries.
