Edward Lee Meux, age 76, of Ferndale, Arkansas (Little Rock) was received into the Kingdom of God June 8, 2012. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Meux, mother, Lena Meux, brother Leroy Meux, and grandson Lee Meux. He was a charter member of Crossroad Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard and was called out to serve in the Berlin Crisis. He was active on many committees in church and he was a deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Shirley Meux; his two sons Lynn Meux, and friend Denise of Conway, Mitch Meux and wife Debbie of Mayflower; two daughters Teresa Hart and husband Garry of Carlisle, Brenda Thomas and Scott of Paron; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends, including two of the best men friends he had – Clyde Lovell of Little Rock and Brother Fred Gay of Gillette.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501)224-8300, with Reverend Bob Loyd and Reverend Fred Gay officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
