Stephen Earl Pierce, 71, of Batesville died Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Little Rock. He was born April 16, 1941 in Springfield, Missouri and was the son of Earl Pierce and Helen McConnel Pierce. He retired from the hatchery at Conagra in Batesville. Stephen was very tender hearted and fun loving. Besides loving his family and grandsons, he also loved his dog “Skip”. He never missed any of his grandson’s sports events. Stephen enjoyed fishing, going antiquing, Pioneer Football, the Razorbacks, the St. Louis Cardinals. He had a collection of Case Knives that he had collected over the years. He loved having fun; was quick-witted; and was very tender hearted and loving. He was a member of Quail Valley Freewill Baptist Church where he served on the board of trustees. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Pat (Clark) Pierce of Batesville; two daughters, Laura Howard and her husband Tim of Batesville and Dana Barker and her husband Carl of Sherwood; sister, Carol Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren, Jeffery Painter, Johnathan Howard, and Kasey Barker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers are Bill Burns, Randy Kazzee, A. C. Bell, Doug Crawford, Mike Watkins, Nick Eanes, and Rodney Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Dodd, Ray Tosh, Jeffery Painter, Johnathan Howard, Kasey Barker, and Charles Thomison. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Quail Valley Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Brad Duncan and Bro. Jim Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery near Drasco under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Visitation is from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012.
