Albert RGene Higgins, 93, of Conway passed away April 14, 2012, in Little Rock, AR. He was born in Memphis,TN. to the late Albert Sidney and Rebecca Beatrice (Carroll) Higgins on July 7, 1918. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Johnson Higgins, a son, Donald Gene ''Donnie'' Higgins, a brother, Vesta Thomas Higgins, sister, Gladys Higgins Robinson, two nephews, and a niece.
Mr. Higgins moved with his family to Little Rock and later to Conway in 1923. He was a member of Robinson & Center Church of Christ, and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Higgins worked as an electrician, radio and TV repairman, air conditioning, refrigeration repairman, salesman, business owner, and a bus delivery driver for Ward Bus Manufacturing. He loved working with the dirt planting and cultivating vegetables and flowers. Mr. Higgins was a wonderful cook and loved experimenting with spices and seasonings. He loved the church and dearly loved his family.
Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois Ann (Ward) Higgins, a son, Rodney Higgins (Michi) of Marietta GA., one daughter, Kimberly Denise Searles (Brian) of Mesa AZ., sister, Geraine Lackey (Carroll) of Conway, three grandchildren, Tyler Gene Higgins, Evan and Kyle Searles, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Robinson & Center Church of Christ. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Mark Copeland, Keith Moreland, Gordon Bond, Allan Myers, and John Tooke. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501-327-7727). In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Robinson & Center Church of Christ Building Fund, 1505 Robinson Ave., Conway, AR. 72034.

I'm saddened to hear of your loss. I had a lot of respect for Gene Higgins. A very good man he was and a great example to those around him. His love for Christ, as well as his family was most evident. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I know the Lord will be your comfort and strength in the days ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
It was an honor to care for Mr. Higgins while he was in our care. He is in the arms of the Lord know. May the Lord Bless and Keep your very Special Family. It was a joy to see Christian love flow from each of you and I know that God will be your comfort.
Gene was such a wonderful man and example for everyone. We are so sorry for your loss, and are keeping you all in our prayers.
What a wonderful man and inspiration to us!. We have only known him for a few short months, but had grown so fond of him and always looked forward to our visits. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lois and all of his family. He will be deeply missed !
I am so sorry to hear about Gene..He was such a dear, sweet person. My parents thought so much of him..he was so supportive of me and my family during my parents sickness and death and I thought so much of Gene. He will be missed by so many at R & C I know I will miss his smile. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts thru this difficult time.

There was no finer Christian example than Gene Higgins. He was a great neighbor and friend of our family for many years. Gene was always there to lend a helping hand. Our love and sympathy to Lois, Rodney, Kim and Gerraine. He will be missed by all who knew him.

hey rodney i met your dad at graduation night and he seemed very nice i have seen him at martins office a couple of times when i was there seeing my doc .if there is anything i can do just let me know ok
