L. D. Callan, 86, of West Memphis died February 21, 2012 at his home in West Memphis.

Mr. Callan retired after being in the Trucking business for 35 years, he has been the district 6 Crittenden County Quorum member for the past 20years. He is a member of the West Memphis First Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Blue Lodge #737, the Eastern Arkansas Scottish Rites, and the Sahara Shrine Temple of Pine Bluff, he was the past president of the Delta Shrine Club, and was serving on the board of directors.

He is survived by his wife Frances Callan of West Memphis; two daughters Kitty Slaughter (Bill) of West Memphis; Diane Barham (Steve) of Hot Springs; two sons Les Callan (Rita) and Mike Callan ( Cindy) of West Memphis; 13 grandchildren Shawn, Courtney, Jeff, Traci, Lynn, Edward,Bill, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Trey, Stacey, Brock, and Jared, and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2012 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home starting at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with services Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the West Memphis First Presbyterian Church with interment in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital C/O the Ron Callan Jr, Foundation .

I will truly miss L.D. Callan he was a Great Community Leader and Person. I 'm sorry to hear about Mr Callan. Ill be thinking about you guys. Made me think of all those catfish we caught on Shell Lake and the whole deer rear quarter LD had smoked that all us boys ate up while he was on the road. Great memories - great guy.
