Dorothy Elizabeth Huggins

of Clinton, AR

November 14, 1927 - November 5, 2010

Dorothy Elizabeth Huggins 82, of Clinton, Arkansas was called home to the Lord on the evening of Friday, November 5, 2010. It was her Faith that allows us to believe that her Eternal Life is just beginning. We know that God's arms are wrapped tightly around her, and as she laughs and smiles, she is at peace. Shed a tear and a smile at the same time; the tear is for how we will miss her, and the smile is for our knowledge of her Salvation.

She woke every morning with an attitude of " What will God have me do today?" She worked tireless hours volunteering where she was needed. She took a job at Wal-Mart as a greeter and worked local elections because it gave her the oppotunity to see her many dear friends. She never met a stranger and you could be sure that there was always an extra chair at her kitchen table.

She would plow, plant and tend her garden to can fresh fruits and vegetables for her family to eat throughout the year. She would help Carlos whether it was skidding logs with a mule, plowing a field, loading and driving a truck or off-bearing slabs at the sawmill. It was all for her family so she worked shoulder to shoulder wih Carlos whatever the job.

We know that she was a strong woman, but the softer, affectionate side of Dorothy wil never be forgotten. She has wiped many a tear from a grandchild's eyes, kissed all the skinned knees and was the biggest fan at her grandchildren's sporting events. She kissed the foreheads of dying friends and comforted their families.

Dorothy epitomized the Virtuous Woman as discribed in Proverbs 31: 10-31.

She is survived by her daughter Joanne Hefner and husband Winston of Clinton, AR; son Johnny C. Huggins and wife Becky of Clinton, AR; daughter Dorothy Lavonne Roddy and husband Walter of Danville, AR; son Jimmy Dewayne Huggins and wife Denise of Scotland, AR; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, (and two on the way) and one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00pm Thursday, November 11, 2010 and Funeral Service will be 10:00am Friday, November 12, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church 2466 Highway 65 North - Clinton, Arkansas 72031 with Pastors Michael Powers, Sheila Gardner, Michael Roberson, and Jeremy Bull officiating. Burial will follow at Crowell Mountain Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Shawn Roddy, Wade Roddy, Michael W. Hefner, Jerl W. Hefner, Caleb Huggins, Tony E. Davis, Chandis W. Linkinogger, and Chad E. Elliott.

Honorary Pallbearers: Shelly Hefner, Tori Huggins, Whitney Davis, Serena Linkinogger, Brandie Elliott, April Gardner, Jade Huggins, and Sidney Huggins.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Arkansas.

When I first met Dorothy & Carlos, it was like they had known me forever. They loved my daughter Becky like there own, and they were there for me, when I made a few trips to Clinton. I miss them, it is like a bad dream, that they are both gone. I think she would not have it any other way, she loved her husband.
My love and condolence to all the Huggins family.

We loved your mother and father so much. She was the most beautiful woman , inside and out. She showed such strengh in the love of her family and the love for her Jesus. We shared the same birthday and always said we were going to celebrate together one day. My biggest wish is that one day in heaven we will. The earth lost some of its beauty when she passed.

She had love in her heart for all and it showed all the time. She took me into her life and it stayed the same always, it never changed. That is just the type of person she was, kind and loving with the most beautiful smile I ever saw. She will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew her. My thoughts and Prayers are with you. Dorothy will be missed by many people. She and Carlos were involved in so many peoples' lives and loved by everyone. They were together so long here on earth (a wonderful 65+ years) and were only apart for a couple of weeks, but now we know they are rejoicing together in Heaven. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family as you go through this difficult time - loosing Carlos and Dorothy so close together we know is very hard. If there is anything we cal do, please let us know. We love you all.
