Robert Earl Lewis, 82, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Mr. Lewis was born in North Little Rock, to the late Ira N. and Thelma Sammons Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was a US Navy Veteran; he retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad. After retirement, Mr. Lewis worked as a self-employed home builder.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Ida Doris Chitwood Lewis; a daughter, Rita Lewis Spillyards and husband, Tom, of Rogers, AR; a son, Robert E. Lewis, Jr. of Sherwood, AR; four grandchildren, Jeff Spillyards and wife, Emily, of Little Rock, Suzanne Spillyards of Fayetteville, AR, Katie Lewis Spice and husband ,Andrew, of Bentonville, AR and Beth Lewis of Rogers, AR; one great-grandchild, Harper Ann Spice of Bentonville, AR; a brother, Noel Lewis of Lithonia, GA; a sister, Doris Harvey of Sherwood, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Dr. Marty Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the funeral home.

Miss Ida, we have never met but, I know you and Mr Robert are special people because of your children and grandchildren. Rita is especially dear to our hearts and is a clear reflection of parents who took great care to love their children in purity and excellence. As you and your family gather together, may tears and laughter mingle in full measure, pressed down, shaken together, overflowing, as you honor and celebrate Mr. Robert’s life.
