I wanted to express my condolences to you and the family. I had the good fortune of eating lunch with Moose a few times when I was editor of the paper in Searcy. He asked me to attend a Gaither concert with him one night in North Little Rock. I couldn't go because of a previous commitment and I was always sorry about that. He was a class act and a very nice man. If I can ever help you, please let me know.

My dear friend Dixie,
I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart and spirit are with you through this difficult time. I am so happy that Moose can now ride again in heavenly pastures, and feast at the Lord's table. He clearly deserves his reward. The two of you lived a Hallmark movie in real life: a blessing so few will ever know. How blessedly rich you are for those memories.

You are still a team in the Lord's service, only his job has taken him out of town until you are called to join him. Your service is still here, as mine is, and we shall overcome in His service and in His time: to the glory of His Holy Name.

God will give you His strength, courage and wisdom through this time. You will then be called upon to share this love with others who will need your help in kind. Listen for His whispers, trust in his guidance, and share His new blessings with those He brings to you. This will give you even more renewed strength: Making His healing purpose your own.

God Bless you Dixie, and accept His Loving Peace and Comfort with all your heart.

We have been separated through the years but the memories of our friendship are memories that I will always hold near.
There was a time when we were as close as brothers.
My biggest regret is that we never got to sit down and talk about "old times" like old friends should.

Dixie and family, I had the distinct honor of being directed by Moose several years ago when the Indie Music Awards were held at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. Our video team was awed by him but we soon found that Moose treated us like he had known and worked with us forever and made us feel very special as we shot the awards show. I later learned that Moose and you were like that all the time. That one time left a deep impression on me knowing that success and fame had not taken over his ego. I wish God's Blessings on you in this time and know you'll be comforted knowing that he is with our Lord now and loved by so many people here.

He was very kind to me and his son Scott Sowards one spring break in 1986. Scott and I got to spend a week with him and we had a blast. We got to go to watch him direct and Geotrge Strait was the main entertainment and we even got to meet him, due to the Mooses clout. I really enjoyed his 240 and 260 Zs as well. They were slightly modified with good Ole American enginuity and they went alot faster after Mr. Sowards got a hold of them!

Dear Dixie:

I am saddened by the news of your dear Moose. He was always extremely kind and caring whenever I worked with him. I know how close you and he were and my prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

God bless you,
Tommy Overstreet

Dixie, you are in our prayers. Moose was one of the best, most fun directors I ever worked with in television. He was very patient and kind to this "new kid" from Cookeville, Tn. who was just learning the ropes. I will always treasure his memory and smile when I think of some of our shared memories both at WSMV-TV and The Nashville Network.
God Bless

Dixie,

You know that I love you and am so sorry for your great loss of Moose. No one knows the hurt that you are feeling, all we know is that you are suffering from the loss of the love of your life. I know that Our Blessed Lord will hold you in his arms to guide you through this time of sorrow and hurt. Please believe Dixie, that all of here in Nashville in the community of country music, have you in our thoughts and prayers and we are here for you. God Bless and Watch Over You and Family.

Dear Dixie Harrison & Family,
I have had the honor of knowing Dixie Harrison and her family since 1983 & Moose Sowards since they moved back to Arkansas in the late 90s. I have been with Moose & Dixie on many visits to their home in Rosebud, Arkansas & I know of their accomplishments in country music. We in this industry owe a lot to Moose and his dedicated work on the former TNN Network as the director of "Nashville Now"/Ralph Emery Show TV show.
