Bill Jones, 69 of Ozark Acres died Friday night at St. Bernards Medical Center. Bill was a devoted Christian and a member of Hardy First Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Deacons and Sunday School Director for many years, He loved serving the Lord.

Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia (Pierce) Jones; one daughter, Karen Forrest and her husband Tim of Hot Springs; one son, Gary Jones and his wife Tanya of Jonesboro; two brothers Bob Jones of Senath, MO and Terry Jones of Granite City, IL; three granddaughters; a grandson; several nieces and nephews; and his brithers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Dr. Larry Kindrick officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the Friendly Hope Baptist Church next to the cemetery following the burial.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearer will be Deacons of Hardy First Baptist Church.

For lasting memorials the family request that considerations be given to the Hardy First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 27, Hardy, AR 72542.

Dear Virginia, Iam so sorry to hear of Billy Waynes passing.May God comfort you and be with you and the family. I wish I had kept in touch with you,Bill was a favorite cousin of mine .I spent a lot of my childhood with him and Bob in Hollywood Mo. His Dad was my grandmothers nephew. Dear Virginia and Family:
Wanted to let you know that you are in our prayers at this time. I remember when I was real young, this young man by the name of Bill Jones started coming to Friendly Hope Baptist Church and before we knew it he had married our Virginia Pierce. Yes, that was many years ago.
Bill was later my Sunday School teacher when I was in the junior high dept. What a fine Christian man and teacher he was. He will be missed by all who knew him.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Jones. We will always remember him as the first person that came around to invite us to visit his church when we moved to the area 10 years ago.He was a good christian man.
