Billy Joe Boddie, 65, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Helena. He was born August 17, 1942 in Toone, Tennessee to the late Chandler Boddie and Vernice Cupples Boddie. He worked as a tankerman in the agricultural field and later he worked in maintenance at the Isle of Capri Casino.

Mr. Boddie is survived by his wife, Sharon Groves Boddie of the home; daughter, Kayce Patton and husband, Cody, Jr., of Marion; son, Warren Boddie of Paragould; granddaughter, Mikah Patton, grandson, Kade Patton; mother, Vernice Boddie of Lexa; 5 brothers, Garland Boddie of Huntington Park, California, Jerry Boddie of Severville, Tennessee, Larry Boddie of Russellville, Floyd Boddie and Jimmy Dale Boddie, both of Dover; 5 sisters, Loyce Pinkley of Cyril, Oklahoma, Patricia Herrington of Lexa, Ann Hamilton of Helena, Ivy Long of Gainsville, Georgia, and Delora Floyd of Taylor, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Chandler Boddie and a sister, Joyce Reynolds

Services for Mr. Boddie will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in West Helena, Arkansas . Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Central Cemetery in Lexa. Reverend Audie Richardson will officiate.

Pallbearers are Charles R. Norman, David Ray, Robert, Ray, Rufus Ray, Butch Sanford and Jason Odle. Honorary pallbearers are any former fellow employees of Riceland Foods/Quincy Soybean/ADM and the maintenance team at Isle of Capri Casino.

To the Boddie Family,,,,,on behalf of my father..Cleo "Rabbit Man" Kendall who has pictures of Billy Joe hanging on his living room wall....I have heard him talk about Billy Joe since I was a little girl having worked for Riceland Foods since they came to Helena I guess. He will always be remembered in the Kendall household, He and my Dad will always share April 12th, that was my dad's birthday. God Bless all of you.

Mrs. Sharon, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Billy. He was such a wonderful man, I loved working with him at Quincy. He was always a bright spot in the day when you saw him.
