Helen Speer, age 83, of Harrison, went to meet her Heavenly Father Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. She was born September 21, 1934, in Harrison, the daughter of Si and Ora (White) Speak. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Juanita Speak of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Phillip Willoughby of Harrison; and her brother-in-law, Donnie Robinson, of Harrison.

Helen married Bill L. Speer August 19, 1957. They enjoyed over 60 years of life together. The light of their lives are their sons and their families. Helen enjoyed a lifetime of achievement beginning at Montgomery Ward Credit Department. She and Bill later purchased the Credit Bureau of Mountain Home and the Credit Bureau of Harrison of which she owned and managed for 35 years. She was elected the Circuit Clerk of Boone County, where she served for 15 years.

Helen is survived by her husband, Bill Speer, of the home; her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Terri Speer, Jr. of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Greg and Diane Speer of Allen, Texas; her grandchildren, Hilary and Diego Chavez, Jessica Gunter, and Dezerra Gunter; her sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Bob Henson of Harrison; a host of nieces and nephews that loved her very much.



Funeral service was 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Blevins officiating.

Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill Speer, Jr., Greg Speer, Jeff Robinson, Ed Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Brandon Robinson and Diego Chavez.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Davis, Bob Henson, Trenton Robinson and the staff at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

A special thank you to Joyce Keymer, Helen's caregiver and friend.
