E. C. Moore, Jr.

of Harrison, AR

March 6, 1927 - February 13, 2017

E.C. Moore, Jr., age 89, of Harrison, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. He was born on March 6, 1927, in the Gaither Community, the only son of Evatt and Blanche (Curnutt) Moore. On March 26, 1948, E. C. married Pam (Palma) Gaylor in Harrison and they were married for 68 years.

E.C. owned and operated gas stations in Berryville and Harrison and worked for Commercial Candy Company in Harrison. Later in his career, he worked as a sales representative covering several different territories across the Midwest for Caffco Imports in Montgomery, Alabama for over 17 years.

E.C. was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Men's Adult V Bible Study Class. He was a charter member of Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville. He served as deacon at both churches.

E.C. was an avid Razorback football and basketball fan who passed the love and passion for his beloved Razorbacks on to his grandsons, Brett and John, and was even able to influence his granddaughter, LeAnn from Tennessee, to call those Hogs, as long as they were not playing the Vols. He was a proud season ticket holder to the football games for over 50 years attending games come rain or shine....and more than likely one of the last fans out of the stadium after each game. He loved his country music and often traveled to Nashville and Branson to attend shows. His smile was infectious and he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Pam, of the home; son, David E. (Rita) Moore, of Harrison; daughter, Linda (Tandy) King, of Columbia, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Brett (Lisa) Moore, John (Mandy) Moore, LeAnn King (future grandson-in-law Terry Schmidt); and five great-grandchildren, Kashyus Moore, Epley Moore, Cady Moore (due in July), Braylee Bell and Kayton Bell.

Visitation was Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the First Baptist Church, Harrison, with Pastor Rob Davis officiating.

Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brett Moore, John Moore, Braylee Bell, Nate Wilson, Mel Melhorn and Mark Mistler.

Honorary pallbearers were Don and Pat West, Bob and Billie Ruth Wright, Men's V Adult Sunday School Class, Robert Shaddox, Doreen McNair, Atlis In-Home Caregivers, Hospice of the Hills staff and Hillcrest Nursing Home staff members.

Pam, Linda and David, I am so sorry that we can not attend the service and be with you. E. C. was a wonderful man with a sweet smile and a wonderful sense of humor. I remember the many times that you visited our home in Arno. We always looked forward to the visits. His love for the "Hogs" and country music were legendary. His devotion to his family and God were evident in how he lived his life. Our prayers are with you, Patsy and Kimble.
