Lawrence "Larry" Mills, age 62, of Harrison, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at his home. He was born September 9, 1954, at Edinburg, Texas, the son of Lawrence Battle and Rosa Lena (Aaron) Mills. Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Van.
Larry worked in public relations for Mid America Missions and as the chaplain for Prison Ministry. He was loved by friends and family and had no problems saying "YES" to the Lord when asked to obey. Larry's true passion was encouraging and helping others. His enjoyed fishing, painting, and rock carving. Larry attended Unity Missionary Baptist Church where he gladly filled in for the pastor and worked wherever needed. His biggest joy in life was his family and serving his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Larry is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; his sons, Jacob Mills of Harrison and Aaron Mills of Aurora, Colorado; his daughters, Laura Sword of Harrison, Brandie Lawrence of Aurora, Colorado, and Betsy Rhoades of Kansas City, Missouri. Larry leaves fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life service was held Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Woodland Acres Bible Camp, located at 54 CR 8052, Green Forest, Arkansas 72638, with Reverend Doug Burris and Dr. Lenord Hale officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mid America Mission, Inc., 54 CR 8052, Green Forest, AR 72638.
Janine and I express our condolences in your loss. Larry was a great man of God and an inspiration to us in his endless pursuit of praying for and winning souls for the Kingdom. He will be missed here but I am sure he will be greatly welcomed in heaven.
So sorry for the loss of a truly good person. He was a long time family friend and was gracious enough to do our mothers eulogy and for that we were blessed. Rip dear friend you are with family

So sorry to hear about Brother Larry's passing. What a wonderful man of God and a blessed testament to his family. I always loved hearing Bro. Larry preach the word.
