Jerry Dale Cantrell, age 72, of Bergman, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, in Bergman. He is now walking with his beloved father, Dwight Huston, mother, Lena Ruth (Taylor) Cantrell, sister, Marsha Dandurand, and his Lord and Savior.  He was born May 4, 1944, in Harrison.

Above all, Jerry cherished his personal relationship with Jesus and was faithful to His Lord and King. He was a graduate of Bergman High School and attended Arkansas Tech University on a basketball scholarship. He worked for Arkansas Die Cast in Harrison before moving to St. Charles, Missouri where he worked for ITT Blackburn until retirement in 1985. Jerry relocated back to Bergman in 1990 where he enjoyed singing and gospel music, gardening, selling honey and sorghum (known to many as ''Wild Man''), and attending His House of Prayer.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Virginia (Carra) Cantrell, of the home; his children, Sheila Long of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Sherry Bene' of St. Louis, Missouri, Brent Cantrell of St. Louis, Missouri and Shannon Behan of St. Peters, Missouri; his sisters, Shirley Breece of Harrison and Sharon Taylor of Lead Hill, Arkansas; six grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.


Open visitation is Friday, November 11, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service is 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2016, at His House of Prayer on Zinc Road in Bergman, with Bro. Charles Tilton officiating. The family will gather at 1:00 PM to greet guests.

Interment is in York Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Alvin Taylor, Jarrett Taylor, David Breece, Will Behan, Ken Bene' and Michael Martinez.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be sent to His House of Prayer, PO Box 42, Bergman, AR 72615.

We have fond memory's of Jerry. He would make you laugh. He will be missed by many. But I know Marsha and his parents are all together. Love and prayers to Jerry family.
