James Anthony Aliano, Sr., age 85, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at Harrison Health and Rehabilitation Saturday, October 22, 2016. He is walking with his beloved daughter, Deborah Ann, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was the son of the late Philip and Mildred Aliano and was born August 24, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mildred; his daughter, Deborah Ann; and his brothers, Anthony and Mickey Aliano.
Jim has been a resident of Harrison since 1988, moving here from New Jersey. He was a member of the The Revival Center of Harrison. He enjoyed being outdoors and listening to God's word being preached. He was a semi-pro boxer in his late teens and early twenties. He retired as a welder. He followed the ministries of Brother David Terrell from the late 1960's until being called home.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Aliano, of the home; his sons, Dana Aliano, James Aliano and wife Darcey, and Stephen Aliano and wife Tanya; his daughter, Christine Lampkin and husband Andy; his brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Lillian Aliano, of Peel, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jordan Aliano, Tierra Lampkin and boyfriend Danny, Gregory Aliano and Alexis Reavis and husband Brent; and his great-grandchildren, Lexton, Lincoln and Bane.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his granddaughter Tierra for her time, care, and love of our beloved Poppop.
Visitation was Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Roller Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Roller Christeson Funeral Home, with Bill Lampkin officiating.
Pallbearers were Dana, James, Tierra, Alexis, Jordan and Gregory.
Honorary pallbearers were Stephen Aliano, Christine Lampkin, Anthony Lampkin, Brent Reavis, Bruce Metcalf, Victor Markle, Dr. Tom Leslie, Dr. Blake Chitsey, Dr. Gary Linker, Dr. Larry Keener and staff and the nurses and staff of NARMC and Harrison Health and Rehabilitation.
Interment was in York Cemetery at Bergman, Arkansas.
