Ronald Lee, born November 25, 1940, passed away suddenly at his home in Hasty, Arkansas, Monday, September 5, 2016, with the love of his life, Lyndia Greer Lee, by his side. Ron loved the old Lee family home place and from that he and Lyndia founded and established Leisurelee Hills Ranch, which came to be known as one of the largest and most beautiful cattle ranches in the area. Ron and Lyndia traveled the globe from Alaska, to Middle America, on to Europe, North Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and several islands in between.

Ron was well known as a pillar of the community and was a major cornerstone of the Lee family. He was respected by all who knew him as a man of great integrity and unwavering principles. His love for all children was never-ending. They put a smile on his face each and every day. He retired from Harrison Public Schools where he taught 5th and 6th grade Language Arts at Skyline Heights from 1967 to 1974. Then he worked for Security Bank from 1974 to 1986 at which time he went back into education. He taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Eagle Heights, and also was principal there, ending his career as 504 Director and P.E. instructor in 2004.

Ron gave 20 years of dedicated service and leadership as a member of the Board of Directors of Newton County Nursing Home where he served as chairman for many years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was selected to receive the Pillars of Solomon Award by Bluff Springs #103 for his outstanding service and dedication to the Lodge. He also served as Grand Master of Bluff Springs Lodge. He served on the ENCWA Board for several years. Ron loved the Lord and was a member and Trustee of Yardelle Chapel at Yardelle for many years.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Vesta (Robinson) Lee. He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty years, Lyndia; his uncle, W.R. "Jim" Lee and wife Shirley of Harrison; his aunts, Erma Lee of Hasty and Donna Lee of Harrison; his brother, Dr. Roy A. Lee of Harrison; his sisters, Jeannine Lee von Gonten and husband Charles of Houston, Texas and Sharon Lee Hope and husband Jerry of Harrison. Ron is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Verna Greer Sherrod and husband Fred of Village Mills, Texas, Rebecca Greer Rasnake of Jasper, and Carla Greer Akin and husband Steven of Athens, Texas.

Ron was especially close to his nieces and nephews, Shelly Lee Jaynes and husband Russ of Pasadena, Texas, Kevin Wayne Lee and wife Kristen of Tomball, Texas, Jason Allen Lee of Pearland, Texas, Cindy Hope Linn and husband Dr. Brian Linn of Harrison, Melissa Hope Johnston and husband Bryan of Harrison, Shannon Sherrod Pourmanafzadeh and husband Mark of Austin, Texas, Christy Sherrod White and husband Tim of Keller, Texas, Sheri Rasnake of Fort Worth, Texas, Paul Akin of Lubbock, Texas, Jacob Akin of Lubbock, Texas, Matthew Akin and wife Anete Bernava of Athens, Texas; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral service was Friday, September 9, 2016, at Yardelle Chapel with Derwin Martin and Fred Sherrod officiating. Visitation was an one hour prior to the service.

Interment was in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Dear Lyndia,

I was sad to read about Ron's passing. I remember him well from my family's days at Harrison. Ron was a good man and you and Ron were always good friends to my Mom and Dad. I will always remember the days of summer when Ron managed the Harrison Public pool. He made sure I learned to swim and he hired me to work there one summer.

I pray that God will give you comfort and that you will know that you will see Ron again one day.

May God bless you,

Dearest Lyndia, when I meet you over fifty years ago, I watched you stare into the eyes of the love of you life. Your relationship with Ron is an example of true unconditional love. Ron was one of the funniest persons I have ever met. I reckon he may even be in Heavan telling God a joke right now.

Love and Prayers,

Linda B.
