May 4, 1925 - September 19, 2015

Lillian Grace Colquitt Yarbrough, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Creekside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Yellville, Arkansas. Lillian was born May 4, 1925, in Russell County, Alabama, to Henry and Grace Colquitt. She was the oldest daughter and one of 10 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Arvilla Yarbrough; an infant son; and two brothers, J. P. and Charles Colquitt.

Lillian married Joe Yarbrough in Columbus, Georgia, and they then moved to Arkansas. They were parents to four children, Ronnie, Sharyn, Deborah, and Jolene. Lillian's mother ensured they were reared on southern cooking with regular shipments of grits and other Alabama staples.

Lillian was a welder in the Mobile shipyards during World War II. In Arkansas, her talent with numbers was used as a bookkeeper, bank teller, and partner in Joe's livestock and trucking businesses. Foremost, Lillian was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Family was most important to her. She loved to travel with her family from Seattle to Montana to Boston to Washington DC, not omitting occasional stops at Disney World. Lillian attended Northvale Baptist Church for a number of years.

Lillian is survived by her son, Ronnie Yarbrough, of Littlefield, Arizona; her daughters, Sharyn Rogers of Missoula, Montana; Deborah (Lloyd) Withrow of Alexander, Arkansas; and Jolene Yarbrough of Mountain Home, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Christy Rogers, Wyatt (Melissa) Rogers, Joseph (Jessica) Withrow, Mary Grace (Caleb) Harper and John (Lesley) Withrow; and her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Don and Cash Arvilla Rogers and Lila Grace and Hadelynn Withrow.

Other survivors include her aunt, Gloria (Eldon) Luker; her brother, Roy Colquitt; her sisters, Christine Johnston, Mary Darkow, Minnie Perry, Nell Falbo, Laura (Brad) Prossor, and Betty Robinson; her sister-in-law, Bernita Davenport; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends throughout the community.

Visitation was Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral service was Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Osborne Cemetery, St. Joe, Arkansas, with Lloyd Withrow officiating.

Pallbearers were Monroe "Monty" Davenport, David Hurst, Charles "Chuck" Yarbrough, Bill Yarbrough, Travis Sullivan and Mike Yarbrough.

Honorary pallbearers were Brad Prosser, Roy Colquitt, and Eldon Luker.

Your mom was a sweet and lovely lady, and we are so sorry for yout loss.
We have both known your family for so many years. From Sharyn & Sharon's tap dance classes ( I still have pictures to prove what great dancers we were) to Bill's Grandmother, Bertha Capps, babysitting for you kids. Bertha thought of you as her own grandchildren!

To all the family,
Sorry to hear of your loss. Lillian was a great person and gave Joe an even keel back in the day. I fondly think of the sale barn and livestock trucking days. I have many great memories from that era in our lives. May peace be with you all.

To Lillian's family,
We are so sorry for your loss. We had planned to be with you, but circumstances have changed. Anna is not feeling well.
We would like to share with you one of our favorite Scriptures: "Cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you." I Peter 5:7
