April 21, 1949 - August 18, 2015

Loyd David Henderson, age 66, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born April 21, 1949, in Harrison, the son of Loyd William and Velma Lillian (Erwin) Henderson.

He grew up loving rodeo and became an avid fisherman and coon hunter. He married his wife Linda, September 18, 2000, in Springdale. He was a mentor and second father to many who knew him.

David is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Becky Kay and Paul Bowlin, Vicki Lynn and Chris Byrd, and Kimberly Denice Henderson; his step-sons, Chad Spears and Kelly Spears; and his step-daughter, Lisa Manes. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh and Andrew McFarlane, Megan Byrd, Harper Henderson, Chelsey, Logan, Tiffany, and Cody; and his great-grandchildren, Rowland, Ryeland, Raylann, Jayden and Lorelei.

He is also survived by three sisters, Martha (Larry) Stewart, Glenda Smiley, and Sharon Link; five brothers, Dennis (Shirley) Henderson, Larry Henderson, Charles Henderson, Tim (Cyrilee) Billings and Virgil (Christine) Billings; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends; and special companion, Sharon Henderson Godsey.

Visitations, first being at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, was Thursday, August 20, 2015 and the second being at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, Crossover Street, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Friday, August 21, 2015.

No one will ever replace you in my life or my heart. You helped mold all of the good and stubbornness inside me and you will live on in me... I miss you so much. But Coach, I know you are walking those streets of gold today that you and I were talking about Monday night and that you will be waiting for me there when God calls me home. Until then, enjoy those walks with the angles and keep a watch over all of us (your girls). I love you ~~ Angie #00

David always has and always will be more special to my heart than words can say. He always said with a smirk that he "saw potential" in me as a softball player....if not for David I wouldn't have been one of the best. Thank you David for always chewing my rear and making me do things over and over until I got it right, making me work my butt off in the heat and always pushing me to be the best. And thank you for being my second dad, always being there for me and loving me like a daughter. So thankful for my Henderson sisters, I love you all so much. I love you David, wait for me in Heaven, I'll see you then, coach.

I know it would make Uncle David so happy to know that he made such an impact on so many. I'm so thankful for the times I had with him throughout my life. My prayers now are for peace and comfort for family & friends in this time of sadness. Until we meet again, watch over us all, Unc. I love you more!
