Robert Kelly Norris

of Harrison, AR

November 21, 1961 - June 29, 2014

Robert Kelly Norris, 52, of Harrison, AR, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 29, 2014, at his home, with his loving family at his side. The son of Joe Kelly Norris and Mary Ann Loveless, he was born November 21, 1961, in Salem, IL.

He was survived by his wife, LeAnn Fowler Norris, of the home; his daughter, Sunnie Cotton & husband Chase; his son, Joshua Norris & wife McKenna, of Anniston, AL; his sister, Cynthia Norris, of Green Forest, AR; and his father, Joe Kelly Norris & wife Lena of Green Forest, AR.

Robert was greeted at Heaven's gates by his sister, Teresa Stevenson, and his mother, Mary Ann Norris; and his grandparents, Lee & Edna Norris, many aunts, uncles and cousins were there to greet him as well. He was also met by Wayne Greathouse & Russell Carter, his fathers-in-law.

Robert had an adventurous heart. He traveled and worked all over the world. He served with the DOD as civilian contractor with GS15 rank, between the years of 2003 thru 2007. He received many medals, award certificates, and coins from the units that he served with. He was so honored to serve with the boys in the military and help save lives and make our lives here in the states safer. Robert was so honored to get to be with a couple boys from Green Forest while overseas in Iraq... Navy Seal Master Chief Tommy Ratzlaff and 2nd Lt. Michael Goins.

Robert worked as an operating engineer with the DOD and Pipeline Construction. He worked for FEMA, KBR, and Mantech. He also had his own company, Norris LLC, in Heflin, AL for many years so that he could stay home with his family. His children Sunnie and Joshua were the apple of his eye. He was so proud of their accomplishments in everything that they did.

Robert prided himself as "MacGyver", being able to make anything work or solve any problems. His motto was "simple solutions for complex problems". He was known in Alabama and overseas as MacGyver and ran into people all over the country that knew him. Robert always said, "the possessions I leave behind will fade away, what I have left behind in the hearts and souls of man will remain, multiply and endure forever."
