Hannah Agnes Chappell of Clarksville, formerly of Des Arc and West Helena, Arkansas passed from this life peacefully on May 18, 2018. She was 87. She was born in Moro, Arkansas on December 21, 1930 to Callie Marshall and Bertha Bea (Smith) Cossey. She married William F. Chappell, Jr. and raised six children in West Helena. They were married for fifty-seven years. She was a housewife and enjoyed crafting. She worked as a ''Lunch Lady'' at Jefferson Elementary in Helena for several years in the late 70's.
She is survived by a sister, Mildred ''Deanie'' Bozarth Tarver, of Trumann, Arkansas; one brother, Johnny Cossey, of Vaiden, Mississippi; five children, Linda Taylor and husband, Tom of Clarksville, Arkansas, Pam Watts and husband, Jim of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Garry Chappell and wife, Lynn of Bryant, Arkansas, Mary Say and friend, Carl of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, Joanne Anderson and husband, Bobby of Des Arc, Arkansas; and daughter-in-law, Anna Chappell of Huntsville, Arkansas. She had seventeen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother and sister, Billy Cossey and Merlene Smith; son, William Marshall ''Butch'' Chappell; and three grandchildren, infant Adam Watts, Zachary Kelley, and Neil Chappell.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Cody Anderson, Tory Kidder, Jason Watts, James Chappell; and grandsons-in-law, Billy Nichols and Alex Rial.
Visitation for Mrs. Chappell will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
