Ruth White Howe, 87, of Little Rock died November 18, 2017. She was born in Dallas to the late Ralph and Fay White on October 4, 1930. As a child, her family moved to Helena,
Arkansas where she lived until moving to Little Rock in September.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Otis W. Howe Jr., son Otis W. Howe III (Dawn), daughter Mary Fay Howe Turley (Chris), grandchildren Jessica Howe Cogburn (Jeremy), Peter Howe (Sara Kate), Kayla Turley Trimble (Nick), Rachel Turley and great grandchildren Jacob and Mollie Howe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bobby.
She graduated from Helena-West Helena High School and received a degree in education from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Chi Omega. Prior to her marriage she taught school in Rose City. She was devoted to her family, and was a Cub Scout den mother and room mother for her children. She served on the St. John's altar guild and the Helena Hospital Auxiliary. Ruth was honored to receive the Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary.
Funeral services will be at St. John's Episcopal Church in Helena on Friday, November 24 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery followed by lunch at the church.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, Maple Hill Cemetery, DeSoto School, or the Phillips County Museum.

Mr. O, Little O, Mary Faye, so sorry to hear about Ms Ruth's death, she was always a graceful, giving Lady. My best memories were her in the Wabash community and at Wabash Federated Church. She will remain in my memorys that I have as a child having the grandest opportunity to be one of the Wabash "kids".
