Vera Zeiler, 101, a resident of Paris passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, in Paris.

She was born June 11, 1917, in Paris to the late Romie and Lillie Priscilla (Moore) Rice. Vera worked as a homemaker and farmer and in her spare time she loved to hand quilt. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris and also attended the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Zeiler; a granddaughter; a great grandson; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, George Zeiler of Paris; a daughter, Phyllis Ewing of Paris; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and two brothers, Argie Rice of Kansas City, Kansas and Eugene Rice of Subiaco.

Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with Fr. Eugene Luke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Josh, Michael and Tyler Achterberg, Jacob Shelton and Zachary and Brayden Zeiler. Conner and Paul Sample and Mark Leding will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Sorry for the loss of your loved one. Vera was a special lady she lived within walking distance from where I grew up she would drive her truck up our lane to check on her chickens as she got older she opted for a 4-wheeler if only all of us can be active n busy to a ripe age. Phyllis I pray that God will comfort your heart you have been through so much. Kristin n family hold true to the memories of the good times with your granny. May God comfort you all.
