Dorothy ''Dot'' Daugherty, 79 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Fort Smith. She was born on November 7, 1937 in Batesville, Arkansas to her parents Charles Alfred and Mary Audrey (Ottinger) Leonard. Dot was one of the first Certified Professional Secretaries in the state of Arkansas and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alfred and Mary Audrey (Ottinger) Leonard; her husband, Fred Daugherty and her brother, Lonnie Franklin Leonard.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, cousins and other relatives and friends.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Dot, we learned today when we came to Ft. Smith to bring you some Easter Joy that you were in Heaven! We love you and Fred. Say a prayer for us and tell Jesus that we want to come too! You were there when Christie was born. We spoke to Bill and we will make an effort to come to Hardy this summer!

I extend my sympathy to you in the passing of your loved one. I rejoice with Dot in her home-going to Heaven. She is well, healthy and enjoying her Lord. I only knew her a short time but am glad I had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for the Lord and His kingdom, her spunk and zeal for life were an inspiration to me. May God bless you and comfort you.
